New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 Day 5
Donna Karan

Donna Karan’s Spring 2011 collection was comprised of only neutral colors so the coppery golden eye that makeup artist, Charlotte Tilbury created complimented the clothing perfectly. The inner corners of the eye were highlighted with a yellowish gold, the skin was given a glossy, wet look, and the lips were erased.
Key Makeup Artist: Charlotte Tilbury for MAC
Alexandre Herchcovitch

I love the brightly colored lips at the Alexandre Herchcovitch show! Obviously, the look revolved around the lime green, turquoise, apricot, pink and blue lips, so the rest of the face was kept clean. A few coats of mascara on the eyelashes, and model’s were ready to walk.
Key Makeup Artist: Gordon Espinet for MAC
Halston

The 70′s inspired makeup worn by the models in Halston’s presentation was gorgeous!! One of my favorites of the day. A natural peachy-pink blush, along with a lot of contour, was applied to the models cheeks. Heavily coated top and bottom eyelashes were the focal point of the look while lips were dabbed with a little bit of concealer for a very nude, barely there look.
Key Makeup Artist: Petro Petrohilos for MAC
Betsey Johnson

Bright, fun and colorful faces took over Betsey Johnson’s runway yesterday! While the look is perfect for a Betsey Johnson show, it’s pretty much my worst nightmare haha. Lime green shadow was applied from lashline to brow, cheeks were swirled with a bright pink blush and hot pink lipstick finished off the look.
Key Makeup Artist: Sarah Lucero for Stila
Carlos Miele

A glamorous, yet simple, bronzed look was seen on the Carlos Miele runway yesterday. The model’s lids were swept with bronze eyeshadow, while black liner was applied to the top lashline, starting thin on the inner corner and getting thicker as it traveled to the outer corner of the eye. The faces were slightly bronzed, and a velvety soft pink lipstick was applied to the lips.
Key Makeup Artist: Charlotte Willer for Maybelline
Carolina Herrera

To compliment the Asian inspired collection at Carolina Herrera, makeup artists applied a soft red shadow to the model’s eyelids. The shadow was blended and extended out past the model’s eye, and several coats of mascara were applied for definition. On the cheeks, a light peach blush, and the lips were coated with a shimmery nude gloss.
Key Makeup Artist: Diane Kendal
Marc Jacobs

Founder and creator of NARS cosmetics, Fracois Nars, created the gorgeous look at Marc Jacobs yesterday! Brows were bleached and the eyes were given a super dramatic glossy, deep green and black smokey eye. Pink blush was applied to the cheeks, and the lips were stained with deep burgundy.
Key Makeup Artist: Francois Nars for NARS
Monique Lhuillier

Models walking in Monique Lhuillier’s show yesterday were given a metallic silvery eye with intense cat eye liquid liner. The creases of their eye were defined using a slightly darker, light purple metallic shadow, which extended outward. Eyebrows were elongated, contour was applied to the hollows of their cheeks, and lips were stained with a soft pink lipstick.
Key Makeup Artist: Val Garland for MAC
2010 VMA’s Best Makeup
MTV Video Music Awards- Best Makeup
The 2010 MTV VMA’s aired last night and while the show was painfully boring, the celebrities all (ok, maybe not all) looked fantastic. Check out my favorite looks of the night.

Sofia Vergara

Ashley Greene
Best Makeup of the Night

Lady Gaga’s makeup last night was stunning!! One of my favorite makeup artists, Billy B, created yet another flawless look on the pop star. It looked amazing in every medium from the red carpet telecast, to every picture taken, and especially when she was accepting her awards during the show. Billy B is truly a genius <3

Derek Lam

I’m in love with the red eyeliner at Derek Lam!! Tom Pecheux and his team applied a thick line of red eyeliner (which actually looks like red lipliner based off of pictures) to the upper lashlines on each of the models. The rest of the face was kept nude.
Key Makeup Artist: Tom Pecheux for Estee Lauder
Lela Rose

Even more orange lips were spotted at the Lela Rose show! This time, they were perfectly matte, no gloss or sheen at all. The eyes were given a bit of definition with mascara and brows were kept natural and full. The textured, messy side braid by Ted Gibson is beyond amazing. I think I love it more than the lips!!
Key Makeup Artist: Sarah Lucero for Stila
Victoria Beckham

The models in Victoria Beckham’s presentation were given unexpected, bright purple eyelids! The color was applied in an oval shape from lashline, all the way up to the eyebrow. Black eyeliner was used to rim the eyes and add extra drama. Lips were topped off with a glossy beige.
Key Makeup Artist: Charlotte Tilbury
Altuzarra

The models walking in the Altuzarra show yesterday were given unique swipes of brightly colored hair gel on the sides of their head. Makeup was kept simple with a very bare face, and super heavy contouring on the cheekbones and temples.
Key Makeup Artist: Tom Pecheux for MAC
Diane Von Furstenburg

The bright, matte rose colored lips at DVF are stunning!! ! To finish off the look, makeup artists simply evened out the skin and added a touch of pearly highlight on the inner corners of the eye.
Key Makeup Artist: James Kaliardos
DKNY

Simple and fresh with a slight touch of unexpected, explains the look at DKNY. The model’s cheeks were swirled with a light pink blush, and a natural pink lip balm was applied to the lips. For a fun twist, makeup artists placed a dot of silver glitter on the center of each model’s eyelid. The glitter is barely noticeable, but when it catches the light, it makes you do a double take.
Key Makeup Artist: Charlotte Willer
Trias

I love the look at Trias today! A completely clean face with nude lips and sepia colored shadow blended from the hairline to the browbone. So interesting!
Preen

The model’s walking in the Preen show today were given shimmery, light blue shadow in the inner corner of their eyes. Taupe shadow was blended into the crease and mascara and liner were skipped all together. The skin was slightly bronzed and a neutral mauve gloss was applied to the lips.
Key Makeup Artist: James Kaliardos
Max Azaria

I love the look at Max Azria; it’s super clean but ultra flawless!! Gorgeous contour and highlights, and a soft pink stain on the lips.
Key Makeup Artist: Lisa Butler for Temptu
NYFW Spring 2011 Day 3
New York Fashion Week Day 3
Yesterday I asked for lips and my wish was definitely granted!! Check out the puckers from today’s shows
Cynthia Rowley

Bright orangey red lips and heavily mascaraed bottom lashes were the focus of the makeup at Cynthia Rowley’s show earlier today! If you look closely at the lips, the color fades outward, which I love! Aside from the lower lashes, the rest of the eye was clean and pink blush was applied to the cheeks.
Key Makeup Artist: Val Garland for MAC
Jill Stuart

Love, love, love these glossy orange lips! I’m so glad that last year’s orange lip trend (here) is continuing on into Spring 2011. The wet skin look is also completely amazing.
Key Makeup Artist: Charlotte Tilbury
Lacoste

More bright lips were seen at the Lacoste show! This time, matte bright red was the color of choice. The rest of the look was focused on a healthy glow and heavily bronzed skin.
Key Makeup Artist: James Kaliardos
Ohne Titel

Half the models walking on the Ohne Titel runway were given a neutral pout, while the others were seen sporting bright neon orange! Just like most looks this season, the rest of the face was clean. A hint of soft gold shimmer was applied to the inner corners of the eyes and the cheeks were swirled with a berry blush.
Key Makeup Artist: Gucci Westman for Revlon
Prabal Gurung

The look at Prabal Gurung was very futuristic. White shimmery eyeshadow was applied to the eyelid and softly blended up to the brow. No mascara or eyeliner. The face was made very matte except for a white, frosty highlight on the cheekbones. Lastly, a very light, frosty lipstick was applied to the lips.
Key Makeup Artist: Tom Pecheux for MAC
Z Spoke by Zac Posen

After all the nude faces we’ve seen this season, Zac Posen’s models are colorful enough to make you forget they even happened! Many of the models were given very different looks, from colorful cat eyes, to vivid shadows extended to the hairline, to neon lips!
Key Makeup Artist: Charlotte Willer for Maybelline
Charlotte Ronson

The look at Charlotte Ronson reminds me of the term I came up with yesterday, “dirty clean.” The faces look clean, there’s just something a little dirtier and edgier about them. A rosy lip and eyeshadow compliment the dewy skin beautifully. I really like this look, a lot.
Key Makeup Artist: Gilbert Soliz for Sephora
Alexander Wang

I know that I’ve said the word “clean” about 300 times in the past three days, but Alexander Wang’s models are the epitome of the word! They are literally not wearing any makeup at all. Just moisturizer!! Would be nice to be the makeup artists at this show!
Key Makeup Artist: Diane Kendal

Alexander Berardi

The skin at the Alexander Berardi show was gorgeous! It looked perfectly clean, healthy and flawless. The model’s upper lashlines were given some definition with black liner and mascara and the lower lashlines were slightly defined with what looks like a neutral shadow or eyeliner. Lips were kept a natural, rosy nude. Love this look!!
Ports 1961

Model’s walking the Ports 1961 runway were given a shimmery bronzed eye with highlights on the inner corner, using a golden yellow shadow. The cheeks were defined with a creamy peach blush and a flesh colored, glossy lip topped off the look.
Key Makeup Artist: Val Garland for MAC
Peter Som

I’m a sucker for a totally clean face with a bright pop of color, so obviously the look at the Peter Som show won me over at first sight ! Love, love, love the bright yellow, thick eyeliner swiped across the model’s upper lashlines.
Key Makeup Artist: Tom Pecheux
Jason Wu

Green and purple, cat eye shaped eyeshadow was the focus of the makeup look at the Jason Wu show. The colors start light and shimmery on the inner corners of the eye, and they deepened as they extended outward past the eye.
Key Makeup Artist: Diane Kendal for Sheseido
Edition by Georges Chakra

The focal point of the makeup in the Edition by Georges Chakra show was definitely the cheeks! Like the Christian Siriano and Ruffian shows yesterday, I love how the blush has been applied in a “C” shape from the temple to the cheeks! The eyes were slightly defined and a glossy, coppery peach lipstick was applied to the lips.
Key Makeup Artist: Terry Barber for MAC
BCBG Max Azria

So fresh and clean, the skin is perfected and highlighted to perfection! This minimalistic look compliments the clothing flawlessly.
Key Makeup Artist: Charlotte Willer for Maybelline
Michael Angel

Very similar to BCBG’s clean makeup look with perfect, highlighted skin and eyes, and a soft pink lip.
Key Makeup Artist: Charlotte Willer for Maybelline
Nicole Miller

Clean is definitely the choice look this season! The model’s walking in the Nicole Miller show looked effortlessly chic with their glowy skin and nude, pink lips. Their eyelids were slightly defined with a shimmery grey eyeshadow blended into the crease. So pretty!
Key Makeup Artist: James Kaliardos for MAC
Rag and Bone

The look at the Rag and Bone show was what I like to call “dirty clean” gorgeousness haha. The eyes were slightly defined with a neutral, tan eyeshadow and I’m in love with the glossy eyebrow.
Key Makeup Artist: Gucci Westman for Revlon
Loving the looks so far but where are the lips???? Nude is definitely the color of the season.
NYFW Spring 2011 – Day 1
Here We Go Again!
New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 Has Officially Started
Ruffian

Bronze was the color on the Ruffian runway today. Models wore bronzy gold eyeshadow that extended out and blended into their temple area. Sparkly gold pigment was applied to the inner corners of the eye to make them pop , while the cheeks and lips were kept a neutral, pretty peach.
Ps.. Look at how hot the nails are!!
Key Makeup Artist: James Kaliardos for MAC
Nicholas K

Models walking in the Nicholas K show were seen rockin’ khaki eyeshadow blended all the way up to their brows. The eye was smokey and dramatic but still surprisingly soft. Is it just me, or do the models look like they are wearing yellow blush? I hope so!!
I’m also really loving the fishtail, side braid!
Key Makeup Artist: Lyne Desnoyers for MAC
Christian Siriano

OMG I love this look. A lot.
Christian Siriano’s models wore a bright, pink-y peach blush blended perfectly into their temples, browbone, and onto their cheeks. The rest of the look was kept super simple with a touch of peach eyeshadow and a very nude lip.
Key Makeup Artist: Polly Osmond for Victoria Secret Beauty
Richard Chai Love

At the Richard Chai Love show, models’ eyes were rimmed all the way around with black eye pencil. Both corners of the eye were connected in a winged V shape. The nude lip color used was Revlon’s “Fashion’s Night Pout,” a limited edition color created by Westman herself!
Key Makeup Artist: Gucci Westman for Revlon
Bensoni

I’m scared of the hair from the Bensoni show but I love that the makeup was fun and colorful! Lime green defined the outer corners of the model’s eyes, as well as along their lower lashlines. Pink shadow was applied the the inner corners of their eyes and the eyebrows were completely erased.
Cushnie Et Ochs

White eyeshadow was heavily applied full circle around the model’s eyes at the Cushnie Et Ochs show. The skin was given a dewy finish, eyebrows were kept natural and no mascara or eyeliner was needed.
Key Makeup Artist: Sarah Tanno for MAC
Richie Rich

Several seasons ago, Pam Anderson walked the runway at Richie Rich’s Fashion Week display.. This year, the designer chose Ellen Degeneres to close the show! Fortunately (and unfortunately), Ellen opted against the blue hooker eyeshadow and smeared lipstick the other models had to wear. Extreme, colorful and fun, what else can you expect from Richie Rich?
Who Does Megan Fox’s Eyebrows?

Megan Fox’s Eyebrow Artist Revealed
Megan Fox has my favorite celebrity eyebrows by far! They are perfectly arched, flawlessly groomed and full, not over plucked. I get a ton of emails asking me if I know who is behind Megan’s perfect brows. Today, I spoke with her publicist, and I’m happy to share with you the artist who’s been shaping up Megan’s eyebrows for the past seven years:
Tonya Crooks
Tonya is a celebrity brow artist who’s clients not only include Megan Fox, but Fergie, Molly Sims, Britney Spears, Eva Mendez (my 2nd favorite brows!), and Gwenyth Paltrow among others.
Get the Look!
To achieve Megan’s brow look, Tonya trims and tweezes them into shape. She “doesn’t use wax as much with Megan as she does with other clients, as her skin is quite sensitive.” Tonya also shares:
“Brows come in two basic shapes — an arc or an arch. Megan has a perfect arch. It’s what she was born with and it works perfectly for her face, as it’s her natural shape and brings a lot of drama to her face, since arches are more dramatic than arcs. Also, as Megan’s brow hairs are dark and her skin is light, there is a great high-low contrast that really gives her a strong look.
If someone wants a similar look they should keep in mind that Megan has a natural arch, but if you have a natural arc, you should go with that. You want to go with what is the most natural, appropriate look for your face. Make sure you keep the hairs long enough, and don’t remove too many hairs from either the front or the tail, as these can often dictate the shape of your brow. Make sure your arch is in the right place, and your brows are thick and clean. Megan often fills in sparse spots with a powder or pencil and always makes sure they’re brushed and kempt.”
The best part is that you too can get your brows shaped by Tonya! She co-owns a salon in Beverly Hills called Mirror Mirror Beauty Studio and her prices are extremely affordable, starting at only $45!

Carrie Underwood- The New Face of Olay Skincare
Carrie Underwood announced yesterday morning in New York that she has just signed on to be the new face of Olay Skincare. The 27 year old country singer states,
“As a little girl I remember my mom always using the original Olay Beauty Fluid and encouraging my sisters and I to take care of our skin. I love that Olay has managed to change with the times, yet stay in touch with women of all ages who want affordable skin care products that do what they promise.”
Underwood will be the brand’s first ever celeb brand ambassador in North America, and she will begin appearing in print and tv ad campaigns later this year.
Urban Decay Releases Pro Size Primer Potion!
I’ve never been able to fall into the Urban Decay Primer Potion hype because absolutely cannot stand the packaging! It is bulky, unpractical and you waste a lot of product with it’s awkward design. The good news is that the company has finally released a new, pro friendly packaging for the infamous product!

Out with the old..
And in With The New!

Not only is it much easier to dispense product with the convenient needle nose tip, but you also get 150% more than the original packaging!
What do you Think? Love it? Leave it?
Behind the Scenes: Wisconsin Resort Shoot
For the past week, I’ve been in Wisconsin filming for a timeshare resort company! Tons of work went into filming as much as we did in such a short period time. The days were long and it was disgustingly humid but the trip was amazing!
Check out some Behind the Scenes Photos!

Our model “family” canoeing on a mini lake.
Filming our model “couple” on a speed boat driving down the Wisconsin river.
The model family goes mini golfing.
At the waterpark. Probably one of the most intense waterparks I’ve ever been to! The wave pool literally looked like a Tsunami haha
Huge emphasis was placed on the golf scenes. Too bad our models didn’t know how! lol
