Spring/Summer 2011 Trend: Bold Lips

Paul Costelloe SS 2011
While the fashion world is getting ready to show their Fall/Winter 2011 collections, the rest of the world is eagerly anticipating Spring! What better way to beat the winter blues, than by jumping into the warmer months with a bold, colorful lip?
Check out the bold lips that were all over the Spring/Summer 2011 shows:

In Milan, Jill Sander’s models wore a matte magenta lipstick.

At the Marni show, Tom Pecheux decided on a bright orange lip (he used MAC Morange lipstick).

Hot pink and coral lips were seen on the Fendi runway in Milan.

At Diane Von Furstenberg, James Kaliardos used MAC’s Pro Chromographic pencil in Process Magenta with MAC’s Magenta Madness pigment layered over.
Jean Paul Gaultier S/S 2011 Haute Couture

I love the “pretty punk” look at Jean Paul Gaultier’s Haute Couture S/S 2011 show! The hair is wild and the super looked fantastic on the runway. dramatic winged liner matched with ruby red lips

Valentino S/S 2011 Haute Couture

I love the soft makeup seen at Valentino’s S/S 2011 Haute Couture show! The model’s eyebrows were bleached and a soft mauve-y pink was blended around their eyes. The makeup complimented the clothing so well!

Armani Privé S/S 2011 Haute Couture

Makeup Artist, Linda Cantello was the key artist for Armani Prive’s S/S 2011 Haute Couture Show in Paris yesterday. She and her team gave the models sculpted, full brows, deep plum lips and attached a small rhinestone at the corner of the bottom lip.

Gorgeous!!
Christian Dior S/S 2011 Haute Couture

Yesterday, Christian Dior presented his S/S 2011 Haute Couture Collection in Paris and as always, the makeup and hair is killer.

Makeup Artist, Pat McGrath, and her team gave models the familiar yet flawless, technicolor eyes and bold lips we’re used to seeing on a Dior runway.
Chanel Haute Couture S/S 2011

Chanel showed their Spring/Summer 2011 line today at the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris. The makeup was simple, with several unique accents.

Makeup artists applied a rosy pink blush right below the eye, and on top the the model’s cheekbones. I love how this subtle detail takes the look from everyday to high fashion.
The rest of the makeup was kept super clean, except for the thick block of liner applied from the center of the eye, upwards and into a squared off block, rather than the classic wing.
Patrick Mohr Glues His Model’s Lips Shut
Last week, our favorite eccentric, Patrick Mohr sent his models down the runway with their lips glued together. The rest of the face was kept bare, and the eyebrows were completely blocked out. Obviously, Mohr is no stranger to the bizarre, as his past season’s runways have featured bald/bearded women, and homeless people.

Jennifer Aniston Gets her Glam on for Allure

Yes, she may have been photoshopped into oblivion but nevertheless, Jennifer Aniston looks amazing on the cover of Allure’s February 2011 issue. I love the makeup! Such a change from the natural look she’s most accustomed to.

Makeup Artist Gucci Westman gave Aniston a “60′s 70′s look.. bronzy, with fresh pink cheeks.” The entire shoot was Brigitte Bardot inspired, complete with clip in bangs designed by Jennifer’s hairstylist, Chris McMillan.

Photographer, Michael Thompson, shot the cover and spread.
