Inglot Finally Launches Their Online Store

Inglot is one of my favorite new (new to me, not the market) brands! I was introduced to them last year at The Makeup Show and have been dying to add more of their products to my kit. Unfortunately, they are only available in select locations which pretty much limited my ability to try more stuff…. until now!
Inglot has finally launched their highly anticipated USA Online Store! Now you can purchase any of their products from the comfort of your own home (I highly recommend the Lip Paints and creme blushes)

The Makeup Show LA 2011 Recap
Last weekend, The Makeup Show LA took over the California Market Center, as over 4,000 attendees showed up to shop insane deals, rub elbows with their favorite artists and learn a few new tricks. I attended on Saturday and I definitely feel like this was The Makeup Show LA’s best year yet!
One of my favorite things about this show in particular, was that the retailers were pretty much the “cream of the crop.” It was as if The Makeup Show selectively handpicked the companies that attended, rather giving anyone with glitter decals a booth
Another thing that struck me, was that the crowd actually seemed to consist of working professionals (for the most part). I didn’t find myself elbowing through a sea of 18 year olds wearing blue and green eyeshadow up to their brow bones, in order to check out the new Lip Tars.. I even saw Billy B walking around doing a little bit of shopping, while being mobbed by fans lol.
The Keynote Speakers were the highlight of my day! The artists that spoke this year are some of my favorite makeup artists, Being able to listen to their stories and watch them demo a look was a really cool experience.
Kristopher Buckle
Being a huge Kristofer Buckle fan, I made sure to get there early for his talk. He was extremely engaging, funny and so generous with the information he gave us. He showed an impressive slideshow and video reel of his work and even recreated a look from Christina Aguilera’s Not Myself Tonight music video! He shared several of his tips, favorite products and gave us the scoop on what he used to create Christina’s custom lashes not only in the Not Myself music video, but for Burlesque as well!
Three Tips From Kristofer:
1. Kristofer uses LipSense lip colors because they “do not budge.” He used them on tour with Mariah Carey and regularly with Christina Aguilera.
2. The red lip in Christina Aguilera’s Candy Man video is MAC’s Ruby Woo lipstick.
3. Several of the products he used on Christina in Not Myself Tonight include Dermacolor foundation, black La Femme eyeshadow, Maybelline Great Lash mascara, MAC’s cherry lipliner. The eye spikes are cardboard with Swarovski crystals glued on!

Pati Dubroff
After Kristofer Buckle, Pati Dubroff spoke before running off to prep some clients for the Academy Awards! Pati was extremely inspirational, she was so humble and down to earth. Pati’s style is very natural, and it was interesting to contrast her work with Kristofer’s. Their styles are so different, yet they both are among the top celebrity artists working today.
Three Tips From Pati:
1. Pati prefers to use natural products when she can. She loves Clark’s Botanicals for skincare.
2. Her go-to loose powder is Sensai-Kanebo. (Which she uses very sparingly!)
3. Pati loves using a Duo Fibre (or skunk brush) for foundation. She loves the airflow through the brush and says it “whips” the foundation onto the skin.

Gwen Stefani – The New Face of L’Oreal!

LOVE this!!
She’s no stranger to makeup, and known for her red lips, which makes Gwen Stefani the perfect spokesperson for L’Oreal cosmetics! Naturally, Gwen’s first campaign will be for brand’s Le Rouge lip color. Her commercial will air during the Golden Globes.
“I can’t believe I get to be one of the L’Oréal Paris girls. I love playing dress up, on stage or shooting videos, it’s always been one of my favorite parts of being in a band.”
-Gwen Stefani

Lady Gaga Returns as MAC’s Viva Glam Spokesperson
Last year, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper teamed up as MAC Cosmetic’s 2010 Viva Glam spokeswomen (the most successful year in the campaign’s history btw!). This year, Gaga is going solo!
For the second year in a row, Lady Gaga has signed on as the face of MAC’s Viva Glam Campaign. Check out the sneak peek of the ad (above), shot by Nick Knight and styled by Nicola Formichetti.
OCC Releases Vegan Makeup Brushes!
As if Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics needed to give me yet another reason to love them…
Last week the 100% Vegan and PETA Approved brand, released their highly anticipated line of Vegan Professional Makeup brushes!! OCC has been raising the bar when it comes to Cruelty Free products for years, and these professional brushes are a fantastic alternative to the traditional, animal hair brushes.

David Klasfeld, the founder of OCC (and an incredible makeup artist fyi), gave Last Looks a little more information about his brand’s newest release..
Why did you decide to create a line of vegan makeup brushes?
“It was actually our customers who inspired us to create the new brush line. We received so many requests for this type product because our customers realized that we had quickly become the industry leader in professional makeup products that were not only cruelty-free, but completely vegan as well. This really made us determined to create the best line of synthetic brushes out there, not only for use by artists, but for our customers’ use at home as well.”
OCC was the official makeup sponsor of LA Fashion Week and I heard that the artists working the shows were some of the first to field test these brushes. What feedback did you receive from the makeup artists at the shows, and will your brushes be a viable option for professionals, as well as consumers, in terms of quality and performance?
“While synthetic brushes of varying quality is no major innovation in the cosmetics industry, ours is the first entirely synthetic line to be determined completely by artist feedback and tested for performance in professional situations before being made available for sale. Feedback at LA Fashion Week could not have been more positive. Any suggestions made were taken into account before the brushes went into mass production, and are now available as determined and approved by our artists.”
The introductory selection of brushes include:
Large Round Powder Brush
Foundation Brush
Concealor Brush
Tapered Blending Brush
Angled Blending Brush
Short Shader Brush
Large Shader Brush
Small Shader Brush
Angle Brush

What do you think? Are you as excited for these cruelty free brushes as I am?
Taylor Swift Gets A Fragrance
Half of me is surprised that she doesn’t have one already, while the other half is remembering how content I was with life before I heard this news..
Today, it was announced that Taylor Swift has signed a deal with Elizabeth Arden to put out her very own fragrance line. In a statement, Swift says:
“I have always loved how fragrance can shape a memory, the way certain scents remind you of events and people that are imprinted in your thoughts”
The scent is not scheduled to launch until late 2011 and has yet to be given a name.
Katy Perry to Release a Nail Polish Collection
First Biebs, then Serena Willams (which I’m not even going to get into at the moment), now Katy Perry. It seems like celebrity nail polish collections are become the new celebrity perfumes!
Unlike Justin Bieber, Katy Perry actually has grounds for such a collaboration. Her nails are always super fierce thanks to her amazing manicurist, Kimmie Kyees.
The Katy Perry Collection by OPI includes five shades:
Teenage Dream (a dreamy pink glitter)
Not Like the Movies (a sultry silver)
Last Friday Night (a fierce glittery blue)
The One That Got Away (an amazing deep berry)
Black Shatter
I’m actually really excited about Black Shatter!! It’s a new top coat that creates a cracked leopard pattern when it dries over nail lacquer!

The collection will be released in Ulta stores January 2011.
