Autumn/Winter 2011
A/W 2011 Haute Couture: Valentino
I love the makeup at Valentino’s Haute Couture show! Flushed cheeks and rosy, stained lips gave the look a very ethereal, angelic feel. The skin was dewey and fresh, and gold pigment was applied to the inner corners of the eyes as well as on the bow of the lips.

For the look at Giambattista Valli today in Paris, makeup artists lined the model’s eyelids with black liner and applied a strip of false lashes. The skin was evened out for a flawless finish and the lips were given a matte, light pink shade.

At the Armani Prive Fall 2011 Haute Couture show, models were given a rosy peach eyeshadow and charcoal grey liner that extended out past their eye in two clean lines.

Yesterday in Paris, Christian Dior showed their first Couture show without John Galliano. While fashion critics are less than enthused about the collection, the makeup remains fabulous thanks to makeup artist extraordinaire, Pat McGrath and her talented team.

Yves Saint Laurent

Key makeup artist Pat McGrath had originally designed YSL’s makeup look with vivid purple lips but that’s not what the models appeared on the runway in. Last minute, McGrath changed her mind saying “the face needs to be more open and sexy” and makeup artists scrambled to replace the purple pouts with a creamy peach lipstick.

Love this look that Tom Pecheux created for Ralph Lauren! The upper eyelids were slightly defined with smudged liner while the brows were filled in for a full, natural look. The model’s cheeks were flushed and contoured with a rosy pink, and the lips were stained bright, tomato red.

Neutral, “no makeup” looks are some of my favorite, and the makeup at Calvin Klein yesterday was stunning! The skin is perfect and glowy, the eyebrows are full and the eyelashes were curled and coated with mascara. Effortless and naural.
